| Opened in 1999 under the
personal direction of Mr Rachid Kaouiri, the Hotel Palais d'Essaouira is elaborately
decorated in the traditional Moroccan artisanat style. The hotel is conveniently located adjacent to the bus station and a 100-metre walk from the gates of Essaouira's old city (medina). Twenty-six bedrooms are arranged on three floors around a central courtyard. Balconies on the upper floors look down on to a sitting area with sofas, coffee tables and satellite television. A cafe next to the reception area serves hot and cold drinks and snacks. It also has a pool table and satellite television. Two large solar panels on the roof provide constant hot water for showers. |
